At Merwine Hanyon & Kaspszyk,  we understand that divorce can be a very hard decision to make and may take you on an emotional roller coaster ride as you deal with conflicting feelings of sadness, anger and hurt.

Our goal is to lighten your load by allowing you to feel confident that your best interests and financial security are being thoroughly protected.

Attorney Connie Merwine provides
expert services in the interpretation of prenuptial agreements and the preparation of Marital Settlement Agreements--typically without expensive judicial intervention.

Our approach is to identify your goals, describe realistic expectations, then thoroughly prepare for and carefully manage your case.

Our goal is always to preserve as much of the marital assets as possible to help protect our client's financial security. To that end, we insist that opposing counsel respond promptly so issues are resolved within a reasonable time and will not be shy in taking steps to force issues.

In any agreement we prepare, we will cover all issues so that the parties avoid the disappointment and expense of future problems.

Our Marital Settlement Agreements provide a thorough picture of all assets and debts acquired during marriage as well as assets that belong solely to you and are considered non-marital assets.

We explore all options to get the best financial outcome for our clients.  This includes valuations and equitable distribution of retirement assets such as pension plans, 401(k) and 403(b) plans, and IRAs, etc.

We assist in determining the most satisfactory method for distribution such as Qualified Domestic Relations Orders. We can arrange to have business and economic experts value stock options, interests in closely-held corporations, real estate holdings and other marital property and debt, so that we have a full understanding of all issues prior to making an offer or allowing any settlement agreement to be signed by you.

Sometimes a divorce will not settle out of Court by way of Marital Settlement Agreement.  In these cases, Attorney Merwine prepares extensively to achieve your desired  outcome in equitable distribution of the marital estate.

Attorney Merwine and her staff will prepare compelling exhibits and arguments to fully establish your legal entitlements in Court.

Indeed, her tenacious work in the Courtroom has earned her the respect of Judges and opposing counsel.

As a client of Merwine Hanyon & Kaspszyk, you benefit from our reputation for vigorous representation and firm refusal to settle for less than what our clients deserve.
